 Happiness:-

As the world is getting modern with latest technology and methods,the level of stress among people has also grown to a very extend, and people have changed the meaning of happiness. Happiness only means materialistic thing or having a lot of money that can be spend, which is completely wrong. And here i will be showing you what does actually happiness means,what causes happiness and the science behind being happy. In additional i will also be sharing few tips through which you can learn to be happy and changes your mindset towards it.

What is happiness?


Most of us probably don't believe we need a proper definition for describing happiness. People answer it as “ we know it - when we feel it " and often use the term to describe it as a rage of positive emotions including joy, pride contentment and gratitude. But to understand causes and the effect of happiness researchers must first define it. Many researchers use the term interchangeably with “subjective well being",which they measure by simply asking people to report how satisfied they feel with their own lives how much negative or positive emotions they are experiencing.


In a book “The how of happiness"positive psychology researcher sonja Lyubomirsky elaborate describing happiness as the experience of joy, contentment or positive well being, combined with sence that one's life is good, meaningful and worthwhile.
The definition resonates with us here at greater good: it captures the feeling positive emotions that comes with happiness,along with a deeper sence of meaning and purpose of life - and suggest how these emotion and sense of meaning reinforce one another.

What causes happiness :-


Our happiness depends on many things. Your happiness depends on how you react to change in your career, marriage personal life and finance. Happiness can also be giving back to the people and community around you. Adopting a growth mindset specially during challenging time and making progress in life . We can understand what makes us happy and develop a set of strategy and behaviour that anyone can practice by asking themselves few questions and answering them honestly.

  • When was the last time you felt widely happy?
  • When was the last time you woke up feeling energetic, joyful and greatful for all that you had?
  • What causes happiness like that?
  • What makes some of us happy almost all the time while others battle with certain issues like depression and have a hard time feeling happy.


Science behind happiness (what causes happiness) :-


Human beings are mysterious to seek pleasure and avoid pain, we not only look to survive in life but to experience what makes us happy. Our brain chemistry is designed to support this effect by releasing certain chemicals in the brain and body that makes us feel good. There are various neurotransmitter or substance released by nerves fibers that affect happiness. Although there are quite few that makes us feel joyful, right now we will focus on two.

  • Dopamine- also known as “feel-good"hormones which is made in brain and distributed through various pathway. The neurotransmitter is an important part of brain's reward system. Dopamine is associated with pleasurable sensation,along with learning, memory motar system function and more.


  • Serotonin- serotonin is a neurotransmitter that is created in the brain as well as in the intestine. People who are diagnosed with depression topically have low level of serotonin available, whereas people with High serotonin often report being happier. This hormone help regulate your mood as well as your sleep, appetite, digestion, learning ability and memory.

How are you supposed to build the right happiness skill if you don't know who you are struggling with in the first place? Which is why it becomes very important to take quiz and explore your happiness, strength and weakness, and learn how to improve upon your weakness and build your happiness.



Give yourself a confidential boost:-

When one is low at confidence level it becomes hard to stay focus and concentrate on a single point, to stop loosing the aim and increasing your internal happiness one must boost their confidence, it can be done through rewarding yourself everytime you achive your target giving a feeling to yourself that there is something great waiting outside your limiting boundary.

Make positive memories:-



Every reason in our brain can be strengthened through practice. If our brain is really good at remembering negative part of life. It can be simultaneously be use to strengthen the regions of the brain responsible for remembering positive things.
In a book ”Think and grow rich” by nepoleon hill, the author has stressed on certain part that how everything can be achived if one has a good mindset and have a positive attitude to achive your goal.

Celebrating little victories:-


Life is full of ups and down and that's actually good, because without failure one cannot understand the taste of victory. But to achieve a bigger goal one must learn to acknowledge and celebrate all those small victories that go unnoticed. and people develop a feeling of failure as they forget to count all the small victories.

Practice mindfulness:-

practicing mindfulness means being present,aware and curious. Mindfulness meditation work by bringing your awareness and attention to the present moment, its about being non-judgmental and accepting how you are feeling.
